As we reflect on the past show jumping season of 2023/24, it's time to celebrate your achievements and the strides you've made in your sporting career. We focus on meticulously analysing performance, delving into the specifics of each leap and event. This examination is not just about the heights, conquered but also about the precision of jumps.

We'll examine key metrics such as the percentage of clear rounds completed, the average number of faults horses have, and key population metrics. These performance indicators are crucial in understanding development and charting a course for continued growth.

Overview Metrics.

During the season, 36 horses started in the seven-year-old class, of which 32 (86%) obtained any points. Horses had, on average, 5 starts in the class, with an average of 1.7 clears. All 36 horses had a sire recorded; 35 horses had a dam sire, and 34 had a breeder recorded. 41 events took place that held a 7-year-old class.

Clear Rate (%)

The population's clear rate was 29%. Two horses had a clear rate of 100%, and 12 had a clear rate of 0%.

Clear Rate of 7-year-olds by location. Poorest performance seen in the Upper North Island, and most consistent performance seen in the South Island.

Average Faults

The average fault for the 7-year-old population was 9.4; these horses had 9.4 faults per start.

Location

The location is divided into South Island, Lower North Island, and Upper North Island. Of the starters, 9 were based in the South Island, 11 in the Upper North Island and 16 in the Lower North Island. This is the location where the horse is based/trained.

Breeding

The most prominent sire was Euro Sport Centavos, with six progeny represented; Corofino II and Kannan both had two offspring represented.

Indoctro was the most represented dam sire with three offspring, followed by Lansing with two progeny.

Goldengrove Stud and Xtreme Sport Horses were the most represented breeders, with three progeny each, followed by Takapoto Equestrian, NZPH and VWNZ, with two progeny each.

The gender composition was 15 geldings, 20 mares and 1 stallion.

This is the first year the data from the seven-year-old series has been recorded, setting the benchmark for trends going forward.
